New Delhi, August 09, 2018: Sheltair Aviation has begun construction of a new hangar complex at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport in the US.
The company will build and manage the new 20-acre Northside Hangar Complex with an investment of $30m at the airport. It will be leased for housing Banyan Air’s ‘Red Carpet’ fixed-base operator (FBO) services.
Banyan Air Service president Don Campion said: “Working with Sheltair on this project was an easy decision. On occasion, we may be proud competitors, but at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport we’ve aligned our interest with one another for almost 40 years.
Spreading over an area of 180,000ft², the hangar complex will encompass eight large cabin-class sized hangars as well as additional 30,000ft of office and shop space according to airport-technology.com.
It will also be the home of Banyan’s Northside FBO terminal that will enable the company to continue to serve its exclusive clientele.
Fort Lauderdale Mayor Dean Trantalis said: “This significant investment reflects the strength of our economy and the tremendous confidence Sheltair and Banyan have in Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport.
“The project is a credit to Sheltair’s ability to bring development to our City that builds value, creates jobs, and continues to drive economic growth.”
Banyan will have a dedicated terminal building open 24/7 to offer FBO and line service for the tenants that will enable customers to get the benefit of the airport’s tower and security operations.
Construction is already underway while the complex is slated to open next year.
