Louisville, June 10, 2023: In an effort to improve user experience and to all of the components and offerings on its website, GlobalAir.com recently rolled out a redesigned home page, the culmination of months of research and development.

Launched in 1995, GlobalAir.com has long been trusted for its aircraft for sale listings, which aircraft brokers and dealers rely on to market their preowned aircraft, as well as its immense Airport Resource Center for pilots and flight departments.

However, the site has also long offered tools such as an aviation business directory and an aviation events calendar that can now be better utilized directly from the front of the site, advancing the goal of GlobalAir.com to serve as a home page for all things aviation.

“From day one we have sought to innovate and create ways for pilots and everyone in the industry to come together in a digital space,” President and CEO Jeffrey Carrithers said. “Ever since those early days, many have come along to imitate or copy things we have done. All throughout the past quarter century, and then some, we have modified and fine-tuned our offerings to best fit our clients and site users. This is just the latest development and we have more work in the pipeline.”

The site takes a new approach focused on mobile usability to provide more ways to reach all 250,000+ pages of GlobalAir.com from the single entryway of the home page. Artificial intelligence was invoked to assist with graphical and layout elements.

“Already, we are working to pinpoint what needs to be done to stay vital through the sweeping changes taking place now on the internet in the form of generative AI and other next-generation tools that will reshape how we use the World Wide Web,” Carrithers said.

Stronger Focus on Aircraft Sales

At the heart of what GlobalAir.com offers is its aircraft for sale listings. The company’s listing models differ from its competitors, allowing clients to remove an aircraft as soon as it is sold, rather than relying on a monthly listing model. As a result, the users of GlobalAir.com can always expect to find that the listings on the site reflect the current real-world marketplace.

The new home page showcases the aircraft of customers that have opted for a featured listing, and it also highlights the most popular aircraft makes and models on the market today, allowing direct ease of use from the home page so users can get right to the planes that they want to see.

Stronger Focus on Aviation News

Since GlobalAir.com launched a blog in 2010 to provide coverage and analysis of emerging events and trends in business aviation and general aviation news, the company has invested further in the quality and depth of its news content.

Traffic for aviation news on GlobalAir.com has quadrupledsince the company brought its news coverage to higher prominence at the start of the pandemic, now accounting for one-fifth of the site’s visitors over the past sixth months. The new home page gives prominence to the latest aviation news stories while offering a better gateway to the GlobalAir.com aviation news section.

All-in-One Tool for Airport Resource Center

The bulk of the more than 250,000 pages of GlobalAir.com indexed by Google come from the site’s Airport Resource Center. For the first time, users of the site can now connect to almost all of those pages in one click by filling out just two fields on the home page, the desired resource and the airport ID.

Fill in the two boxes to instantly access tools to compare FBO fuel prices or find FBO amenities and contact info, get an airport summary, view an aviation weather report, access approach plates and other terminal procedures, locate aviation companies and facilities at an airport, find nearby attractions, get into on hotels, restaurants and rental cars, find NOTAMs, runway details, radio frequencies and communications, navaids, remarks and more.

New Widget for Aviation Business Directory

The GlobalAir.com aviation business directory dates back to the early days of the site in the 1990s. More of its features than ever before are now featured on the home page.

Users can find aircraft insurance companies, MROs, parts suppliers, aircraft ferry service providers, charter companies and aviation colleges and universities – or access dozens of other business categories in a single tap or click.

Added Visibility for Aviation Events

Another longstanding feature of the site allows users to add all sorts of aviation events, from major airshows to regional meets, fly-ins and local pancake breakfasts. The new GlobalAir.com home page adds stronger graphical elements to showcase events and to promote users to add their own.

The reconfigured home page is now live after a soft launch in mid-May. We invite everyone from the aviation community to come check it out and discover parts of GlobalAir.com that you might not have realized existed before.
