New Delhi, September 22,2022: Soon-to-be-privatised Alliance Air (AA) is finally going to resume Delhi-Shimla-Dehli flights from September 26. A former subsidiary of Air India, Alliance Air will use a brand new ATR-42 (VT-UDA) for daily flights (depending on weather) on this route with an introductory all-in one-way fare of Rs 2,141.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched the UDAN (ude desh ka aam nagarik) scheme by flagging off a Shimla-Delhi flight in April 2017.

AA was supposed to restart the flight from September 6 but had to defer the same due to bad weather — heavy rains and poor visibility during monsoon. “…it is our endeavour to offer better air connectivity between tier-2/3 towns to their closest city hubs…. recommencing maiden RCS route Delhi-Shimla-Delhi (with a ) daily from September 26, 2022. This flight will operate with our brand new ATR42-600. The introductory all inclusive fares for Delhi-Shimla and Shimla-Delhi will be Rs 2,141,” AA said in a statement.
