Flight operations at Delhi Airport in the national capital were disrupted due to weather conditions. Airport officials have reported that approximately 30 flights, including international ones, are facing delays in both arrivals and departures.
On Tuesday morning, a thick layer of fog enveloped the Delhi-NCR region, accompanied by a temperature drop to nearly 7 degrees in Delhi, as reported by the India Meteorological Department.
IMD anticipated widespread dense fog across various regions of the country until January 2.
Earlier, flight operations in New Delhi, Bengaluru, Kolkata, and Hyderabad experienced disruptions on Monday due to dense fog affecting visibility in certain areas of the states.
There are also reports of 14 trains being affected due to fog and low visibility in the Northern Zone of the Indian Railways.
Passengers took to social media to express their grievances about delays, while airlines such as IndiGo and SpiceJet notified travelers about the challenges posed by ‘low visibility.’
The Delhi airport issued an advisory, urging passengers to get in touch with their respective airlines for the latest flight information. According to the reports published in economictimes.indiatimes.com .
“While landings and take-offs continue at Delhi Airport, flights that are not CAT III compliant may get affected. Passengers are requested to contact the airline concerned for updated flight information. Any inconvenience caused is deeply regretted,” the Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) said in an advisory.
