New Delhi, July 29, 2020: Griffith University and Airways Aviation will work together to launch international aviation students to new heights with a partnership that is the first of its kind for the Gold Coast.

The joint arrangement will ensure the development of an academic program for current and future international students within Australia where they receive a Bachelor of Aviation, Diploma of Aviation (Commercial Pilot Licence) and a Diploma of Aviation (Instrument Rating).

Students are set to benefit from the partnership from Trimester Two, and will receive credit for their diplomas, shortening the length of their Bachelor of Aviation by a third.

Griffith University Bachelor of Aviation Program Director Dr Sravan Pingali said the move would give international students the chance to gain a tertiary qualification after first completing flight training at Airways Aviation.

“Griffith Aviation has Australia’s most highly recognised aviation program and over the past 25 years we have built an international reputation for graduates that are industry ready,” Dr Pingali said.

“International students who successfully complete their diplomas at Airways Aviation can now continue on to Griffith University to complete their Bachelor of Aviation.

“This has not been possible on the Gold Coast before and we look forward to welcoming these new students and creating a seamless transition for them.”

Airways Aviation General Manager, Helena Tierney commented saying; “Airways Aviation is extremely proud to partner with Griffith University to offer International students a prestigious pathway to gain the necessary requirements to achieve their dream of becoming a commercial pilot.”

Airways Aviation, a global flight training provider, with bases in the France, Spain, Montenegro and Australia has over 30 years of pilot training experience. Airways Aviation provides various courses including the Diploma of Aviation (Commercial Pilots Licence) and Multi Engine Instrument Rating.
