Raunheim, July 21, 2022: As the first system provider, Lufthansa Systems with its product SIRAX/ONE Order received the official IATA ARM Index certification for IATA 21.3 baseline release in the areas accounting and settlement. This achievement shows that Lufthansa Systems is not only ready for the future but also one of the pioneers in aviation IT solutions. SIRAX/ONE Order enables airlines to sell, account and track the delivery of new flight and non-flight products and services in a seamless way, bringing airlines closer to other retailers.

It allows airlines to be agile, to innovate and move from PNRs, e-tickets and EMDs, towards orders and services. The clear vision is to move toward order-based processing and modernized retailing, delivery and accounting, providing simplified finance processes fully in-line with IATA ONE Order and Settlement with Orders (SwO).

New Distribution Capability (NDC) – the new data standard

The International Air Transport Association IATA, a valued partner of Lufthansa Systems since over 20 years, represents around 300 airlines worldwide, is working on the New Distribution Capability (NDC) initiative. This new data standard is more flexible and dynamic than the current EDIFACT (Electronic Data Interchange for Administration, Commerce and Transport) format, for example. EDIFACT was established in the 1980s. The new NDC and ONE Order distribution standard reduces distribution costs significantly and enables increased revenue through ancillary sales. It also greatly simplifies the implementation of dynamic pricing.

Starting with the IATA Index certification, IATA, airlines and other providers together define and design the future industry standard. With the SIRAX® product line, Lufthansa Systems is an active member of the IATA Order Accounting Group as well as other working groups.

“Through our participation in the various working groups, we are always very close to the airlines and new developments in the respective areas and are actively involved early in the design phase. This helps us to offer airlines the best possible IT solutions,” said Sebastian Holfert, Senior Product Manager at Lufthansa Systems. “It also gives us the opportunity to present ourselves as a competent airline IT provider and actively help shape new industry standards.”
