Mumbai, June 06, 2023: Vietjet, Vietnam’s leading new-age carrier, announces its first direct route connecting Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) and Brisbane (Australia), making it the third Australian city after Melbourne and Sydney to be included in their flight network. This remarkable milestone was witnessed by the Vietnamese Prime Minister, Pham Minh Chinh, and the Australian Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese, alongside esteemed representatives from both countries’ leaders, businesses, and people. This new route not only connects Vietnam to Brisbane but also serves as the gateway to the beautiful Queensland state.
Starting June 16, 2023, the airline will operate direct route between Ho Chi Minh City and Brisbane with two return flights per week, on its A330 wide-body aircraft. This development will play a significant role in boosting trade between Vietnam and Brisbane, Queensland, as well as fostering stronger bilateral relations between the two countries. This new route will shorten the traveling time and create favorable conditions for tourists to fly between Vietnam’s leading economic and cultural center (Ho Chi Minh City) and the third largest city in Australia (Brisbane).
The flight will take off from Ho Chi Minh City at 10:50 (local time) and land in Brisbane at 21:55 (local time). The return flights will depart at 23:30 (local time) and land Ho Chi Minh City at 05:10 in the following day (local time).
Marking the 50 years of meaningful diplomatic relations between the two countries, Vietjet plans to open more new routes connecting Vietnam and Australia, as well as other countries across the region and the world.
